This is the Dremel Saw-Max, designed for you to get more done. It’s compact, lightweight, powerful, but most importantly easy to use. While it may not solve all your cutting needs, it’s pretty darn close. With a cut depth of .75 inches at 90 degrees, this will take care of most of your general cuts. So whether you are making straight cuts, plunge cuts, or even flush cuts the Saw-Max is ready to work. It’s ideal for metal, wood, plastic and more. The Saw-Max comes with two blades but you can pick up some of the available accessories here.
Let’s take a look at the visual aspect of the saw. At the top, you have the on and off power button. On the bottom, there is a trigger with a safety feature. The Dremel Saw-Max has a 6.5 power cord. The blade location is to the left side of the Saw-Max. On the right side of the saw, you have the lever for the cutting depth. This can help you to cut depths from 1/8in. to 3/4in.
This saw comes with two blades: one for wood/plastic and the other for metal. They are not your typical looking blades; they’re pretty funky-looking if you ask me. The wood/plastic blade gives the impression that it burns wood by its design. Surprisingly enough, it cuts through 3/4in plywood with very little effort, leaving a clean cut. The saw is powerful for its size. I only had the two blades. However, there are a few more options available. I would totally like to get my hands on them and see how they perform.
If you need to make linear cuts, this saw does just that. It’s not designed for bevel cuts. The saw can adjust up and down. When I mention not designed for beveled cuts, I meant the saw itself. You can find accessories here that allows you to make mitered cuts. To max out the use of this saw, you will have to pick all the blades. While you can do a lot with the Saw-Max, you are still limited to a 3/4 in depth cut. Other than that, you can take on multiple materials like plywood, plastic, metal, and apparently bricks! I am totally going to cut a brick to see how it performs. If you already follow me on Instagram be on the lookout.
I can think of a lot of situations where this saw can shine. Though I have individual tools that could do most of the presented task, it’s nice to have them all in one. This saw is lightweight, powerful, and best of all COMPACT. I literally can store it in a drawer. Another big plus about this tool is it’s easy to hold for one hand operations. This could be the saw to get you started on your first project, or that is handily ready for any task.
