Etching Glass
The Dremel Stylo is a versatile tool. Glass etching is a new experience for us. The beauty of this is you don’t need any prior experience because it’s as simple as finding or creating a design you like. All you have to do is print out the design you want, place it on the inside of your subject, select the 7103 accessory, and begin.

Pick a design.

Select a tip and trace the design.

Admire your work.

Put it to use.
Carving Wood

When etching any material, I find it’s easiest to trace the design first with a pencil or a sharpie. Afterward, I can trace the lines with the proper accessories.
For just around $59 you can get your hands on one of these. Dremel Stylo+
My Thought
I really enjoyed using this tool. It’s lightweight and easy to control. Although a cordless version would have been nice, I think the tradeoff of dealing with a cord is minor. I can see where a battery running low could be quite frustrating, especially when working on a larger project. I haven’t tackled many craft projects but this tool is really addictive. It’s kind of like using a fat pencil. The bits are easy to change and the instructions are simple to understand.
The Good
- Lightweight
- Easy to use
- Comfortable to use
- Lots of accessories
- Great instructions
The Bad
- Would have been nice to have a carrying case.
